The Vangear Space concept

Vangear is a long established campervan company. We are a manufacturer of campervan pods and retail online. Our camper pods use unique and original designs and therefore the Vangear campervan conversion necessitated thinking outside the box too. We will try to use the next few pages to explain the Vangear “Space” concept in five base points.


Space concept #1 Space & Air 

The main reason to move away from the traditional down the side of the van furniture set up is the available space. By going for a low level blanket box combined with a RIB rock & roll bed we have formed a full width bed.
An important aspect is ventilation, light and movement of air. Vangear has fitted opening window and here are front door vents too.
A light and airy feeling is created by the fitted windows, keeping in touch with the landscape view, but for night time there are curtains and a windscreen cover with LED lighting overhead.

Space Concept #2 Sociable Space & easy set up

By combining the RIB rock & roll seat the side mounted blanket box and a vangear X-Pod we have created a living area. There is a drawer fridge powered by a Bluetti power pack and space for a 335. With a convenient table at hand clipped on to the X-POD. The blanket box has a pair of cushions for seating and also at night time to make up the spacious bed. The RIB rock & roll bed is NCAP certificated with integral seat belts and Isofix, adjustable headrests and a tilting rear leaf. Again the easy operation of the bed and seat make transforming your campervan into night time mode simple and fast. The Bluetti Elite 100 V2 has 1024Wh, 12v and 240v power.

Space Concept #3 Storage

An important aspect is storage, you need room to put stuff! We have spent time with our design to maximize available storage areas.
The side blanket box has a large storage area under the cushions at the rear and at the front. Access is via hinged doors under the cushions leading to a surprisingly large area.
Under the RIB seat is a area ideal for bedding. The X-pod has room behind a tambour and opening door for your cooking needs.
Under the twin passenger seat which tilts up to expose the under seat area.

Vangear Space concept #4 Cooking

Cooking is of course part of the camping experience! There is a 20 litre fridge run from the power pack. There's a  electric hob and sink with water bottles (10 litre fresh + 10L waste) integrated into the kitchen pod.

For such a conversion we picked the Ford Transit Custom. A camper with a up to date design including great driving comfort and handling, mixed with modern technology and a wide interior.
