Q . How do i get an idea of a units size?

A. A good ideal is to make a cardboard template based on the sizes of the individual pod and offer it up inside your van.
 Many of our units have rounded corners which helps with fitment. 

Q. Will i need to assemble my unit?

A.No, our pods are fully assembled and ready to fit.


Q. Do i need a floor rail system in my van ( like the VW California)?

A. No our units can also just be bolted down to the floor of your van. We also have anchor/cleats for the VW California rail system.


Q. Will i need to do any plumbing ?

A. No our units are pre plumbed in with fully integrated plumbing systems including a auto tap, pump, plumbing , clean water and grey water bottles


Q. Which gas bottle do i need?

A. The Campingaz (blue) R904 refillable bottle


Q. Does my unit need 12v electric? 

A. Our units come with a fitted 12v plug ( cigarette lighter plug) to power the auto pump. ( which only uses a very small amount of 12v power)
To hard wire into your van, just remove the plug.


Q, Does a unit with a fridge or cooler need a leisure battery?

A. Yes, for operation when the engine is off a leisure battery will be needed.


Q Which units will work for a DVLA (UK) campervan tax class change?

A. The requirement is a double burner hob, ie our Maxi and Maxi XS units only.


Q. What happens if i have a problem with fitment into my van?

A. Our Fitment Support Guarantee


In the event of problems fitting your pod we will
  1. Help with technical advice
  2. Help you with any fitting adaptors/ extra mounting plates
  3. In the unlikely event that the unit does not fit - A 14 day return policy


Q. How long does manufactuer and delivery take?

A. Remember our Vangear campervan units are made to order at our Brighton workshop,
so please allow 2 1/2 weeks until dispatch as we have to build and ship your unit.
We aim for less, but a busy schedule and stock levels can be a factor.

Q. Do we export?

A. Yes, we are based in Brighton UK but we also
export almost daily to the EU with Spain and Germany been top of the list but also Portugal, France, Italy and the Czech Republic.

We have exported to over 20 countries including South Africa, South Korea, Norway
USA and Iceland
( shipping costs can be very interesting!)

Q. Do we make LHD and RHD?

A. Yes we can make our Maxi, Maxi XS system and our Premium system for either side of the van.

Q. How are the Nano - Kombi - Mini - Maxi XS pods delivered?

A.The Nano, Kombl, Mini and XS are delivered in a box and with the Mini and XS there is
a extra box for the table, bottles etc. The shipping company will e-mail you tracking details.  

Q. How are the larger Maxi - Modular Systems delivered?

A.The larger units will be delivered on a pallet. Please bear in mind pallet delivery tracking is
not as interactive as parcel delivery

Q. What are the delivery costs ?

A. For UK mainland orders delivery starts from only £25 and  EU delivery starts from only £45 


Q Will i receive delivery tracking?

A. Yes the shipping company will email you tracking details.

Q. What happens if there is a missed delivery / delay / damage 

A. Occasionally their are delivery problems and this can be frustrating for both you and for us, but we will always sort our any problems.

Please check for delivery damage and keep any packaging

 

Do not handle and lift from top alone, lift from the underside or open unit door and lift from inside

 

We have designed our units to be simple to fit however you not feel confident with any part of the installation should please ask for advice

 

Use the power cable to hard wire to van / cigarette lighter / 12v power.

Always empty the waste bottle (if supplied) at same time as filling the water bottle to avoid over filling the waste bottle.

The waste hose could be taken outside through the floor of the van

 

When using the tap for the first time , turn the tap on/off a few times to clear any air

 

 We have supplied a campingaz regulator (not Nano) for campingaz bottles R904 (bottles are often available on eBay)

 

Instructions for gas hob included

Safety Information

  • Only use hob in well ventilated areas.

  • Never close lid when burner is alight.

  • Never change gas bottle near naked flame.

  • Always shut off gas bottle at regulator during transit.

  • Use a Co2 alarm, check battery regularly.

  • Never leave lit hob unattended

          

If the tambour door is stiff use silicone spray to lubricate the door tracks

 

Make sure the hob pot holders are pushed fully home to avoid rattles on glass lid

 

Always dry fit the units first to work out there positions relative to the van

Take care when drilling through van and check underside of van

 

The units can be fixed to the van though the floor of the unit into the floor of the van

  • Floor mounting via slots and hex bolts(supplied) to fit unit to the floor (option for anchor/ cleats to fit to floor rail system ie VW Caravelle)

Floor mounting  

All you have to do is fix the unit securely to van floor with the hex bolts

  1. Position unit in place and dry fit units to check the positions of all units relative to van

  2. Hint ; it’s a good idea to mark the positions with masking tape

  3. Mark the fixing holes though the slots in the base

  4. (option for anchor cleats to fit to floor rail system ie VW Caravelle)

  5. Drill holes

  6. Re position unit and fix with hex bolts

 

Anchor/cleats for the VW rail system slide into the rail. Use the 2 smaller set screws to hold the cleat in the right position , move the fixing bolt to its highest position. There is a hole at the end of the fixing slot to pass the unit over the bolt.   

 

Nano unit

  • Flip over table with room for camping stove ie Campinggaz bistro 2

  • Anodised aluminium trim

  • Cup holder

  • Tambour sliding door

  • Sink with auto feeding tap

  • Water bottle with auto pump

  • Waste bottle

  • Can be fitted next to our Waeco tcx21 cooler and cooler cradle

 

The tap head is loose in the fittings bag (to stop damage in delivery) and needs to be pushed on hard onto the tap



 

Kombi unit

 

Designed as a miniaturized campervan pod. The Kombi unit is a high quality, stylish, easy to fit and remove. The Kombi has a built in sink and a door which doubles as a table. There is no built in hob but it utilises a camping stove ie Campingaz Bistro 2

  • The 12v plug and cable can be passed through the hole in the floor

  • The leg is stored on the shelf with lugs

  • To open the door rotate the knob until the slot is vertical

  • To remove the door/table , open the door push in the table clip buttons pull the door off and remove the check strap

  • The table can now be fitted to the front rail and the leg fitted

  • To refit the door make sure the table clip buttons are pushed down (looking from the top of the table) and locate the door centrally with the table clips on the floor rail as you push the bottom of the door in the table clips will click closed. Refit the check strap and close the door.

 

Mini unit

 

Your unit will arrive in 2 boxes, 1 with the unit and 1 with a table (option) and fittings;

 
  • A removable storage tray which fits on lugs in the unit

  • A  waste bottle which fits the waste hose from the sink waste

  • A clear water bottle which the pump fits to

  • A draining board for sink

  • Make sure the hob pot holders are pushed fully home to avoid rattles on glass lid



 

Maxi unit

 
  • The maxi unit has a slot in 16 l water tank with a pump supplying the tap

  • A removable storage tray which fits on lugs in the unit

  • Waste “ water slot “in 16l bottle

  • A tray for a campingaz R904 bottle

 

Maxi unit for front loading fridge

 

 Modular system

 

Always dry fit the units first to work out there positions relative to the van

Take care when drilling through van and check underside of van

-Modular system for cooler (A 16L slot in water bottle and waste bottle in the wheel arch unit which fits the waste hose from the sink waste(the tank is emptied with the hose clipped to the back of unit)

-Modular system for front mounted fridge (RM123)

             -Modular system for mid mounted fridge (The top loading fridge fits into the wheel arch unit and is fixed with screws from under side. The remote compressor sits in the wheel arch unit)

 

Wheel arch unit



 

Position unit against front unit and work out position of fixings. Most vans taper to the rear (t4) and on t5 may need to be scribed or section cut out for wheel arch flange.

Holes can be drilled for waste outlet from sink to floor of van (option for waste tank) or clip the waste hose outlet to the back of the unit.

Fix unit to floor and the overhang to the wall with the bracket

Plumb in tanks with waste pipe to rear waste tank. When using a cooler or usb sockets a leisure battery may be required.

 

Top unit

 

Top unit is fixed with bolts to wheel arch unit and after removing top with bracket on top of the unit, fix top bracket upright to back to van wall. Bracket may need to be cut and drilled with fixing hole to suit, refit top
